How Risky Is Your
Migration?

Three questions. An honest answer in under a minute. Use it before you start, to know what you're walking into, or partway through, to know what to focus on next.

Step 1 of 3
01 What's changing?

Select every variable that's moving. Risk compounds when several change at once.

02 How many URLs are affected?

Pick the closest band. Volume changes the redirect mapping and validation effort sharply.

03 How dependent is the business on organic search?

The share of revenue or acquisition coming from organic. Higher dependence means a temporary drop hits harder.

Methodology

How the Score Works

The questions map to the three things that actually determine migration risk in practice.

Factor 01

What's Changing

Risk compounds when several variables move at once. A platform switch is medium-risk on its own. Add a domain change and a redesign, and it becomes the riskiest pattern there is. The score weights each variable by how much disruption it typically causes.

Factor 02

URL Volume

The number of URLs determines how much redirect mapping, validation, and post-launch monitoring is needed. The work is roughly linear with URL count, but the chance of missing something scales faster.

Factor 03

Organic Dependence

Two migrations can have identical technical risk and very different business risk. A site where organic drives 60% of revenue has more to lose than one where it drives 10%. The score weights this so the recommendation matches the stakes.

Where to Go After the Quiz

Whichever band the quiz puts you in, the playbook is in these guides.

Got a "High" or "Highest" Result?

That's the band where rankings get lost. A focused migration risk review will give you priority failure points, validation checkpoints, and a clearer pre-launch action plan.
